Beet Curly Top Virus (BCTV): Caused by a Curtovirus, this disease is transmitted by beet leafhoppers, which are commonly found in the western and southwestern United States. Symptoms include stunting, leaf distortion, twisting of new growth, and mosaic or mottling patterns. Affected plants also display shortened internodes with increased lateral branching.
